Part Time - Duty Manager vacancy in Grays - Essex (076DM)

Our client is after a Duty Manager to help run their Popular Aqua Park during the Summer period.

Hours: 20.5 Hours per week. (Tues, 4.5 hours, Weds, 8 hours, and Thursday 8 hours)
Start date: Saturday 18th May 2025, for initial training.
End Date: Sunday 22nd September 2025. (There may be some flexibility for the right candidate.)

Day to day key responsibilities:

-Acting as a first point of call for both employees and customers to resolve day to day issues onsite.
-Working in reception for up to 40% of your day, where you have access to a computer to carry out your tasks. From that position you will be able to jump onto
the tills at high volume times, in order to keep customer queues to a minimum.
-Using your initiative to ensure the smooth running of the park and that we receive good customer feedback through our booking system.
-Supervising the customer service and sales team, where our customers check in to the park.
-Ensuring that the team offers all of our products to our customers, i.e., the opportunity to spend more time on the water, to meet our customer’s needs.
-Managing a shared email inbox with customer enquiries. Ensuring that we have the correct information for a future customer booking. We expect to convert a
minimum of 80% of our inbound email queries into sales.
-Managing the Lifeguarding team, ensuring that customer safety is our first priority.
-Ensuring that at all times employees are following our Normal Operating Procedures.
-Delivering on the spot coaching to team members and escalating any issues to the Manager.
-Ensuring employees clock in and clock out, as scheduled, for their shifts.
-Following our documented procedures and safe systems of work. You must act promptly to both control risks and escalate any issues to the Site Manager/Directors.
-Ensuring inspections of equipment and facilities are accurately carried out and recorded.
-Ensuring that First Aid forms are accurately completed, and filed on the company’s systems.
-Maintaining supplies of First Aid equipment onsite.
In the event of an emergency, you will assist the Manager in coordinating the team response in line with our Emergency Action Plans.
If required you will provide Lifeguard cover, for very short periods of time, to keep the Aqua Park running smoothly.
You will be a key holder and have responsibility for opening up and closing the site.
Working on an agreed shift rota, covering 7 days a week, with some early starts and late finishes.
You will need some flexibility to cover holidays/absence in the duty manager team.
If necessary, you will step-up to cover for the Site Manager.

Training:
You will be fully supported and trained in order to do the role. You will complete company specific online training sessions, alongside other Duty Managers.
You will undertake onsite training with our management team. You will be given a target date by which time all your training must be signed off as complete by your Site Manager,
You will then be expected to deliver bite size training sessions to Aqua Park employees as required.

We would like to hear from you if you have:
-A minimum of 3 years’ work experience, ideally in leisure, lifeguarding, customer service, membership sales, hospitality or managing teams of people.
-A genuine love of the outdoors and/or active outdoor hobbies.
-Experience of supervising others.
-Delivered training and coaching to new employees.
-Customer service and/or sales experience.
-You may have a degree, such as Sports Management/Leisure/Tourism/Events
-Management or Instructor qualifications.
-If you do not currently hold a lifeguard qualification then you will need to be prepared to undergo Lifeguard training, this requires you to be confident in the
water and able to swim 400 metres with a sense of urgency.

You may have some of the following experience:
-Managing an online booking system
-Planning employee rotas and shifts

You may also have some of the following qualifications:
-NPLQ National Pool Lifeguard, OWL Open Water Lifeguard, NBLQ National Beach Lifeguard
-Instructor/Coaching qualifications
-FAW First Aid at Work
-Swim Teacher qualifications, STA or Swim England

You need to have the right to work in the UK and be fully referenced before starting work, so you must provide details of two referees.
You will also need to undergo a DBS check before you can start work.
