System Engineer – Network Integration (R&S) vacancy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (042jc)

My client, who is a major telecoms provider, is now seeking a System Engineer – Network Integration (R&S) for their operations in Saudi Arabia, you will be reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.

Main Objectives and Functions:
• To deliver end to end network solutions, cost-effective and low-risk designs compliant with customers’ requirements, through-life design, capable of onward implementation and support by the company.
• To be the subject matter expert in IP network communications and systems integration.
• Hands-on experience in planning, testing and implementation of comms networks.
• To design networks to industry standards and best practices.
• Experience and knowledge of IP Networks (WAN/LAN), IP Telephony/Video Conferencing, Encryption Devices, Network Management.
• Responsible for the design, planning, implementation and technical transfer of system integration for a board technology set covering radio / wireless voice, data networks, telephony, microwave and TDM.
• Expert in the delivery of communications solutions in accordance with established contractual obligations and company process and procedures (Design Review, Configuration Control, System Acceptance and Documentation).
• To work closely with other business functions as part of project delivery (Customer, New Business, Project Delivery and Managed Services).

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Write network design requirements, statement of requirements, scope of works, system design details and policies documents.
• Define and review sub-contractor proposals for design, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing.
• Competent to analyse a technical problem from root cause through to resolution without any prior knowledge of the subject matter.
• Ensure all design documentation is professional and of high standards and complete for technical transfer to the customer.
• Supervise sub-contractor works as appropriate.
• Excellent at producing technical reports, presentations and action plans. Confident to present to customers, peers and team members.

Recruitment Specification (Knowledge & Experience):
Essential
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an Engineering/Computer Science discipline plus desirable industry certifications such as CCNP or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years full system development lifecycle experience in network design, implementation, Integration and troubleshooting.
• Experienced in the design, delivery and management of complex telecommunications systems covering radio / wireless voice and data networks.
• Hands-on with Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and TDM/SONET/SDH Transport Architectures Including: Ethernet technologies, Routers and Switches, Spanning Tree, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, L3VPN, EoMPLS, and VPLS.
• Excellent at producing technical reports, presentations and action plans. Confident to present to customers, peers and team members.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, under tight deadlines, often with competing priorities and complexities and with minimal supervision.
• Must have a flexible approach and be able to travel throughout KSA.

Desirable
• Business experience in the Defense Sector
• Knowledge of System Engineering Lifecycle.
• Experience in major military network projects.
• Experience of living or working in the Middle East

As this role is based in Saudi Arabia, candidates must meet all of the minimum qualifications as they are not bound by UK or EU Laws, also only individuals up to the age of 55 will be considered for any of these roles.
