You will be reporting to the Operations Director and have about 6 to 8 direct reports.
You will be responsible for the supply and management of resources such that customer demand is met whilst at the same time ensuring that the business is running safely, efficiently and profitably. This includes chauffeur and fleet availability for company as well as all related or ancillary services.
In addition, you will provide valuable support and assistance to the Ops Director to ensure that the entire operation runs smoothly and in line with published KPI’s, as well as standing in for him as and when required.
This post forms a vital part of the Local Senior Management Team and is expected to participate in regular Management Meetings as well as provide input and ideas at a strategic level.
Therefore your key responsibilities will include:
• Providing advice and support to the Ops Director.
• Management of the fleet department and all fleet related activities ensuring compliance with all Relevant KPI’s, the fleet consists of over 140 high end vehicles.
• Line management of the Chauffeur Trainer & Operations Support & Development Facilitator working with them to develop additional chauffeur training including improved driver safety, standards and quality.
• Management of all fleet related IT infrastructure, hardware and software.
• Management of the selection, recruitment and training of all chauffeurs and drivers, as well as conducting training course evaluations, with a view to recommending changes to the programmes.
• When deputising for the Ops Director, assume full responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day running of all UK operations and you will be reporting directly to the VP, International Operations.
• Actively participate as a member of the Senior Management Team providing strategic input and advice. Be prepared to get involved in all areas of the business and have a positive impact in our success.
• Provide assistance to the VP, International Operations, Ops Director and Finance Director as required.
• Onsite support to the Company International Information Technology Department.
• Any other duties which may be reasonably requested of you and which falls within your skills and ability.
To be considered for this role you will need the following knowledge, experience and skills:
• Relevant educational / academic qualifications will be considered advantageous
• Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a senior supervisory or management capacity within an operations led organisation or department
• Proven ability to understand and manage a large and complex operation as well as managing multiple resources efficiently and within pre agreed parameters.
• Experience in fleet management, maintenance, acquisition, telematics, insurance and safety is advantageous.
• A full understanding of Health and Safety legislation and a track record of ensuring safety in a fleet based operation.
• Able to prioritise, multitask and take responsibility for key tasks in high pressure environment
The ideal candidate would probably be SNCO/WO or LE or DE Officer who has some commercial experience prior to leaving the service, with ideally within High End Chauffeur/Private Hire sector or a strong logistics type operation. As no two days in this role are ever the same, and with constantly shifting priorities, you will need to be able to think on your feet and be highly adaptable.
