Submissions Engineer vacancy in Sheffield or Leicester (052jc)

My client is one of the UK’s leading organisation in the construction and infrastructure sector, who supply an array of construction materials, with over 300 sites in the UK. They are now seeking a Submissions Engineer to join their expanding team.

Your role will be to provide the submissions of the highest standard through excellent attention to detail, a thorough understanding of their customer’s expectations / requirements and presented clearly.

Therefore your key duties will consist of:
• Manage the production of pre-qualification and quality submissions for major bids through integrating with Regional Teams
• Review all tender and pre-qualification questions and deliver a strategy and objectives that will achieve a winning tender submissions.
• Meet with the Regional Director / Manager to discuss and incorporate the objectives within the bid Win Plan / question strategy
• Ensure the strategy for answering questions is consistent across department colleagues and regional Teams and a thorough understanding of the project / Customer is portrayed
• Manage submission deadlines to ensure priorities (key customers) and timescales are met
• Support the periodic transfer of knowledge from key resources in the businesses to ensure up-to-date data, approaches and performance materials are incorporated within thier Submissions Easy Access System (or use in future bids)
• Mentor and develop your Submission Coordinator, sharing skills and enhancing their ability to write professionally
• Identify areas for improvement to meet the continuing demand to differentiate their submissions from industry competitors
• Post submission, produce and hold tender debriefs to identify strengths and weaknesses within the process to maximise the next opportunity
• Meet with the Client / Customer to gain feedback on the submissions to improve future bids
• Conduct research into key industry / government initiatives and feedback to business
• Travel will be required around the UK to interact with regional businesses

To be eligible for this role you will need the following:
• Educated to degree level ideally English, Marketing, Civil Engineering, Law
• Good command of the English Language
• Excellent IT skills in particular; Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat
• Creative, with the ability to proof, format and enhance readability / presentation of their submission documents
• Experienced and knowledgeable in construction techniques including; highways / CE / 278 works, programming, design and Design and Build contracts (with experience of completing Approach and Evidence type bids)
• Experience of working in a bid environment essential, together with a thorough understanding of procurement practice
• Excellent organisational, communication and people skills to progress bids to meet a successful outcome
• Ability to mentor, provide guidance and coach the Submissions Coordinators
