You will be reporting to the Warehouse Manager and you will be responsible for running the repairs workshop and maintaining a consistent throughput of technical repairs on Lighting and associated equipment.
Therefore, your duties will include:
• Develop and maintain a spare parts stock, in co-ordination with the Langley Warehouse Manager
• Understanding the priorities of the incoming repair stock and deciding on the cost-efficient repair options.
• Undertaking electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Preparing equipment to be sent to external suppliers for repair
• Testing equipment (including PAT) before managing return to stock
• Liaising with repair suppliers to resolve complicated / bulk repairs
• Advising on casual staffing levels to maintain consistent workflow.
• Agree and set up performance deadlines / ticket system, so items are not left undealt with.
• Using RT pro stock control system to identify where all repair stock is located either within the company or at external repair suppliers, and returning repaired items to stock.
• Liaising with the Warehouse manager / Inventory manager about retiring stock which is beyond economical repair
• Work with the company Purchase Order Controller to ensure supplies are maintained a good level within the repairs department and the equipment departments.
• Work with company departments so they have a better understanding of what repairs can be done quickly and locally and what should be escalated to the repair department.
• Ensure the department workshop is maintained in an efficient and organised manner at all times with all tools and equipment accounted for.
• Work with the Operations manager to ensure all operations are risk assessed and control measures are in place and being adhered to.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills and abilities:
• Must be IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel,
• Able to learn the company stock control inventory system (Rental tracker Pro)
• Must be able to confidently communicate with internal colleagues and external suppliers
• Be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues
• To be able to work under pressure to changing deadlines
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
• Be willing to help in other departments when time allows to fulfil orders
• The is person will be self-motivating and organising with the ability to plan workload keep track of multiple jobs
• Experience in the lighting industry is desirable
This role would probably suit someone coming from a technical background as you will be working and maintaining various items of electrical lighting equipment which is being used by the film and television industry.
In return they are offering an excellent salary banding and the warehouse hours are from 07:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday, and additional weekend and evening working is sometimes required.
