They currently have an opportunity for a Training Instructor to join their Astute-class Training Service team.
The role holder will act as an Instructor and subject matter expert, delivering classroom and simulator-based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers. Additional responsibilities will include providing specialist advice as necessary, assisting with the training design process and completing associated administrative duties.
They are looking for individuals who can demonstrate recent experience operating Naval Nuclear propulsion systems, preferably on Astute-class submarines. Reactor Core H experience would be an advantage. Ideally you would have previous experience of training delivery and hold either DIT or DTTT qualifications.
Key areas of competency we require are as follows:
• Qualification as a Category A Watchkeeper in the Royal Navy Submarine Service
• Comprehensive knowledge and recent experience of operating Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant
• Comfortable working in an autonomous role
• Engaging and effective communicator
All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS security clearance and 5 years employment reference checks.
In return my client is offering an excellent salary package as well as a range of benefits which includes a company pension scheme. There may also be a relocation package for the right individuals to assist with moving to the area. You will be working a 37hr week, and with the training department operational from 8am to 8 pm, they operate a system of swing shifts, where you can work early one week and start later the next.
Please note that Instructors are occasionally required to work at locations other than HMNB Clyde.
